You are invited to attend community workshops for the Transit Corridors Plan for Sustainable Communities. The first workshop will be on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM, and the second will be on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM. Both workshops will be held at New Brighton Middle School, 250 Washburn Avenue, Capitola. Spanish translation services will be available. Habrá servicios de tradución.

The Transit Corridors Plan is a county-wide planning effort that will focus on urban areas in Live Oak, Soquel, and Aptos, and will help shape growth and development priorities throughout Santa Cruz County. Let's encourage the County to commit to best practices for bike, transit, and pedestrian infrastructure. With your input, the Plan can integrate the County's land use and transportation policies in a way that protects environmental resources, supports economic growth, and increases access to opportunity for all County residents.

For more information on the Plan and the process so far, and to view the current "Existing Conditions Report", visit www.transitcorridorsplan.org. There is also an option to submit comments online, via Open Town Hall. Follow the link on the front page, sign up, and submit your take on sustainability in the County and the plan area.

People Power will host a pre-workshop huddle to collectively strategize at:

Gayle's Bakery & Rosticceria
