Micah Posner - Director

Micah Posner has been a bicycle advocate in Santa Cruz for 20 years. He is currently the director of People Power, a grassroots group dedicated to sensible transportation in Santa Cruz with 500 members. He serves on the Board of the Hub for Sustainable Transportation (housing the Bike Church) and the Board of Friends of the Rail Trail. He has also served as the Bike to Work Day Coordinator and is a co-founder PedX, a local bike messenger company.

Micah has ridden across the United States and through Israel and Egypt. His most recent tour was through Japan with his wife and 3-year old daughter. He has lived happily without a car for the last 23 years.

Steve Piercy - Website Developer

Steve Piercy provides custom website development, design and hosting for People Power through his self-owned business. Steve serves on the Steering Committee. Before relocating to Santa Cruz County, Steve worked with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition creating online campaigns to improve conditions and facilities for bicyclists. Steve has not owned a car since 1998, and once moved his entire apartment by bicycle into a condominium he could afford to buy as a result of not owning a metal death monster.

Steve enjoys helping organizations and businesses learn to use technology to grow and be more effective. He is an avid gardener and backyard farmer, and enjoys trail runs through the forests and along the beaches with his wife and yellow labrador retriever.
